Training while on AAS -
09-29-2008
Any opinions on how training differs while on AAS, a friend of mine who was on aas for over 20 years told me not to change my routine with the exception of going heavier. However I dont feel I get all I can out of AAS. My routine currently is as follows:
Monday: Chest and Shoulders
Bench x 3
Incline x 3
Decline x 3
Flys x 3
Barbell raise x3
Shoulder press x 3
Lateral raises x 3
Note: My Pecs are my weakest muscle group, Former Front Delt Pusher ( now correcting )
Tuesday: Back and Traps
Deadlift x5 ( 10,7,3,2,1) only deadlift every other week, and have a hard time doing that while on aas due to the extreme pumps.
Bent over rows x3
wide lat pulldowns x3
Close grip pulldowns x3
Seated rows x3
rear delt flys x3
front shoulder shrugs x3
rear shoulder shrugs x3
Thursday: Arms
Barbell curls x3
Hammer curs x3
Incline concentrations curls x3
Rope pushdowns x3
Close grip Benchpress or Dips x3
Seated overhead triceps extensions x3
Tricep Kickbacks x3
Forearm curls x3
reverse forearm curls x3
Friday: Legs
Squats x5 ( 10,10,10,7,5)
Leg Press to failure
Quad extensions x3
Stiff Legged deadlift x3
Donkey Press x3
Standing Calf raise x3
Abs
I am capable of running this routine for about ten weeks before overtraing symptoms set in ( without aas ). I have used the montra of giving muscles a week of rest ( with the exception of triceps, and biceps that are used overlapping with chest and back routine) since I started training as I used to be a hard gainer til my metabolism slowed. I grew quicker this way. With the help of AAS I wonder if I could train into a 4 day split ( lower and upper ). Maybe drop to two sets for each excersize. FYI , I do warm up for each muscle group as its not listed above. Any opinions would be helpful, Thanks in advance
