Doing cardio first thing in the morning, on an empty stomach, before you eat anything, is by far, the most effective. Whether you run, jog, walk, swim, jump rope, take an aerobics class, ride a bike, etc., doing it first thing in the morning is the best time to do it for maximum fat loss. Why? Its simple. When you do your cardio workout, you are burning calories. Lets say you wake up, eat breakfast, eat lunch later in the day, and then a few hours after lunch, you do your cardio. All you will be doing during that cardio is burning the calories and carbs of the food you just ate. When you do cardio first thing in the morning, you haven't eaten anything for the last 8 or so hours because you were sleeping. So, when your body sees that there are no carbs to burn, it goes directly to stored bodyfat. And stored bodyfat is the fat that is on your body, which is the fat that you want to lose!

Smile Thanks - 12-23-2007

Hi there all Id like to thank trigenetics Trainwiser and jax you guys gave me a lot of great info Im getting stronger than ever before by following the 5x5 program my strength has gone up a lot, better than training the way I did for over a year with little or no result. Im not the strongest in the gym but hey Im doing a lot better than strugling with medium weights as before, patience is the key. Thank you all again and thanks to anyone I have forgot to mention.

6-8 rep range for medium sets seems to bring about a proportional gain in strength and size for me, 5x5 is a great mthod though, still plenty of volume to gain well.

This may sound like a retardo comment, but be sure to rest. The worst thing that could happen is you get your diet down, do all your workouts and you still see no results. This happened when i was younger. I completely forgot that when you rest, your muscles grow, and not when you're in the gym. Hope this helps some.
