workout for chest .. need godd ones that actually work - 03-13-2008

how can blow up my chest i need good work outs for my chest and how many times a week ..

if you are relatively new to training or if this is your preference, i think you should be concentrating on strength training and nutrition......ie. hitting your chest more often and practicing form, i personally get goodresults when i train my chest every 5 days with moderate volume in low-medium rep range.....everyone is different and no system works forever, the trick with chest bar genetics is to mix things up.....

ie. high volume/ low volume/ giving chest its own day/ back to basics etc.

however if you concentrate on the basic compound exercises its a definate way of making progress.....


Wide-grip dips - lower outer pecs
Flat Bench presses / Seated Bench Press - general pecs
Incline Bench presses - upper pecs
And some kind of fly movement like cross-overs or Incline flys - inner/outer pecs

remember, alternating between dumbells and barbells or varying your grip and angles all tax the muscle from different positions therefore allowing you to make continued progress, switch up whatever routine you decide to run with every 4wks or so, or
until you feel its not working for you any more....

i tend to stay in the 3-10 rep range and anywhere from 8-12 sets, and train mainly for strength as this is what i prefer....

i suggest you try the same if you have been stuck in a rutt with your current routine

i do work my chest hard but no results hahah..
i do chest monday .. and saturday . then i do cest again on wendsday and then on monday i rotate my scedule every week so there is no confusen .. and i do different machines lets say if i did cest this week . i only did incline downcline and flat .. then nest week i do the cest on the machines i dont know how to explain but u just sit there and push the weights . then 3week i do the cest on the ball with dumbells so its diccent and gives me the burn in the mucels.. but no echivemnts so far maybe when i get on the gear it might help...

Do you go heavy or just rep it out? Try going hard and heavy after warming up do sets of 5-6 reps to failure on the big compounds like flat bench and incline bench, I say ditch the ball and machine work and just stick to the barbell and dumbbells on benches. Like you already do, make sure to hit every angle when working out; incline, flat, and decline.

Bump and also get your diet in line to reap the maximum benefits out of pounding your chest hard.
