switching my work out (going for cut not balk) need help - 08-21-2008

i've been working out for 4 years now going from 155ibs at 5' 6" to 185ibs. i've pretty much always done the same work out, only putting in and/or taking out different exercises picked up in the gym along the way. my reps have always been 10 8 6 going up in weight each time and i've had really good results so why change? well being as wide as i am tall just doesn't do it for me anymore. i want to have that skinny toned look, not the big bulky look. i've flirted with the idea of doing reps of 30 30 30 keeping the weight the same. i need help with the work out though. any ideas on how to achieve my goal of bulid cut lean muscle with no fat.
thanks

keep training the way you are if you are getting results, but up the cardio and clean up your diet, i find strength training is ideal for fat loss, you'd be amazed how many calories you burn shifting low-med heavy reps, some prefer to up the reps seeking muscle tone, high reps can help but you may risk loosing some real mass for pump as your muscle shifts its dynamics towards muscular endurance, experiment with all rep ranges for complete development, high reps help when you have been dieting for a while, its aids squeezing out the extra glycogen pre-contest, but diet and cardio arekey with fat loss, aswell as choosing the correct drugs etc.

Bump, if you are getting good results in your weight training keep it, not doing high reps of 30 for the same weight. The muscle that you have, will actually help burn more fat, so you don't want to lose any by going with light weights with that high of rep for too long. Try to hold onto as much muscle and do more cardio, and focus on your diet, especially manipulating your carb intake. When you drop bf, you will start looking leaner.
