Well, as for vitamins and minerals, what would you guys suggest? I have been relying on AST meal replacements quite a bit throughout the day, especially at work. Mainly because they contain a ton of vitamins and minerals, but if I am to make room for fruits and vegetables, it looks like I'm gonna have to cut them out of my diet. Now, this poses a problem. I don't think I'll be able to get my daily recommended supply of v & m's from fruit and vegetables alone... or will I? I pride myself (I know that sounds stupid) in the amount of v & m's I get everyday. Suggestions please.
you can buy time released multi-vits/minerals and take two a day, thats enougth anything else you get from your food your body will know what to do with......
supplements can aid recovery but not by a huge amount in my opinion, although they will help....
seeing as your training three days a week, providing your diet is up to scratch you could get away with not having to supplement as you should have enougth recovery time, multi-vits etc. should be taken anyway and not really considered a sports supplement as such....
lots of things can be considered training naturally, many consider staying withinthe law natural...but there is nothing natural about using say pro-hormones or some of the harsher compounds.....its down to what you wanna achieve really.....you will never be as big as one of the pro's or a more advanced bodybuilder if you dont supplement through one way or another......im assuming you want to remain fit and healthy?
your training should be geared towards strength, cardio and functional work...hypertrophy will come with time if you stick with a BB split and a healthy diet......this is how i plan to go once i have additional muscle mass to cut with......

The overdose may be more dangerous than not getting the daily needded dosage.

I was under the impression that your body only absorbed a certain amount at a time... meaning, though I am getting 100% of most vitamins and minerals in one meal, my body is only capable of absorbing so much... perhaps, as much as is needed. I have also read, people who workout regularly require even more vitamins and minerals. But, now I'm really considering cutting back on the MRs, but money's kinda tight and fresh vegetables and fruits can be right expensive through the week.

Yes you are correct about that. Most vitamins only stay in your system for 12 hours if not processed by your liver.

You need to get actuall vitamins and take them every day. If money is tight go to costco. Kirkland offers 500 tablets of one of the best multi vitamins on the market aside of the animal pack you can get at GNC.

your body will be sufficient enougth to cope with some extra vits etc. however too much of say vit a and some b complex can actually do more harm than good if you over do it.....
but you should know this, as when you buy and supplement its best to know what your taking and how to take it.....
