One of those weak days.. - 01-07-2008

I don't know what came over me today but we had a bench test and he made me bench 265 and i couldn't do it. Then he dropped it to 245 and couldnt do that either then he dropped the weight to 225 and neither could i do it.. then he drops it to 205 and i couldnt do it... I was like wTF! I have done that weight before but today my body just gave in.. have you guys ever had that? Tomorrow is the sqat test and i wouldn't doubt it if he makes me sqat 3 plates

over training bro...you need to take more time out...remember in theory as you get stronger you generally need a bit more rest time.... because you will have upped your work rate and be training heavier at greater intensity....

thats just insane how u can go from 265 to 205. by over training, it has happend to me before. sadly

I wouldn't mind the weight dropping since i know my body can't take that weight at the moment due to over training, but it just happened at the wrong time, i had all my class mates looking at me and shit. Imagine you see a dude that does 230+ average bench every chest day and yet he can't max out on the test day at 205?

I just had one of those weak days today, it sucked my muscles just weren't there for the workout and neither was my mind, normally use 275 on flat for my working sets but could barley do 235 for a normal set today. i was pretty disappointed with my weights but it still feels like i got a good workout in my chest is tender like after a normal day just the intensity was really low.

Was it because u was off the cycle no pct? Would not doing pct have the same effects?

No pct can make you lose most of your gains, and get estrogenic effects.. I wasn't in a cycle, just my mind and my body just weren't there that day.

I think it happens to all of us but we need these down falls to get us back on track again, try switching exercises a little an increasing your rest time. It happened to me not that long ago so what I did was switch some of my workouts instead of doing the same exercises for both my chest,arms,legs,shoulder,an neck days (I do all body parts twice a week) I switched all my 1st body part exercises to more compound power exercises an put more isolation exercises in my second day.
I know its a little confusing but here's an example Tuesday:Shoulders Day 1:Behind the neck press an Barbell Rows with front lateral raises an side lateral raises ( The raises are super set). Friday:Shoulders Day 2:Front lateral raises an Side lateral raises an dumbbell rows all these are super set.
