Glass particles from Amps?!?! - 08-07-2008

Lets say someone bought some test in amps... I've been doing some reading that the tiny bits of glass that get in your gear when you break them open can actually cause damage to your arteries as well as your brain if they get that far.

Anyone know anymore on this?

Glass particles - 08-08-2008

I wiki'd ampoule and noticed the following comment:

"When pressure is applied, the top will break off and the medicine can be reached.
After opening the ampoule, the solution is filtered to remove any glass fragments which may have fallen in the solution when the ampoule was opened."

Googling around I came across some medical procedures that describe breaking open amps and the using "filter straws" to draw the med into the syringe.

I haven't come across any source for "filter straws". If I do I'll repost.

Edit:
Came across this:

Some say not needed, but cheap peace of mind ??
