Sports Hernia - 06-26-2008

Hey guys, Just wondering, Lastnight I was having a shower, and noticed a lump that was about an inch long and is located on the left of my nutz, right where my leg kind of meets the rest of your body right beside your penis. Sorry for the bad description but that should give you a good idea. It caught me off guard but then after talking to a few people I realized its probably a Hernia. Has anyone else ever had one?? Did it go away on its Own? Did you need surgery? Its only painfull if I poke at it, and I`m almost positive its a hernia because it follows the mucle, and its swollen around the area. As well, How long did it take you to recover after the surgery? I don`t want to be out of commision for the summer, but also don`t want to put this thing off. Any help would be great. Any Info Is great guys

Hi Nett,
It sounds like a hernia and it wont go away on its own, it needs surgery IMO. Go to the docs and sort it out. Its only a minor surgery and the longer you leave it the worse it gets. The muscle has burst through its lining hence the lump, dont worry all they do is wrap a mesh round it and you will be good as new in no time. It didnt take long to recover it was a long time ago for me but I think 2 to 3 weeks was all it took. Good Luck!

I'd get it checked out ASAP. lifting weights may worsen the hernia due to the straining involved. try to see a doctor to have it checked out and taken care of. best of luck.

life is good.
