    Talking 3day Split ??

    I'm looking to cut up but also gain some mass. How's this routine look?

    Day 1 Chest / Tri's

    Day 2 Cardio 40-60min

    Day 3 Back/Bi's

    Day 4 Cardio 40-60min

    Day 5 Shoulders/Legs

    Day 6 Cardio 40-60min

    Day 7 Yoga or Rest

    Note: 3 Exercises per body part/4 sets each/8-10 reps
    NO MORE THAN 1 HOUR WORKOUT

    Cut the sets down for Bi and Tris. 12 sets is way to much for them.

    That is always a hard one for me. I either cut up or bulk up. I have wasted to much time tryin to do both. I find it much easier to get as cut as possible and then do a slow bulk. Diet is everything. Use the mirror instead of the scale as well. the scale drives me nutts. Good luck bro!

    thats alot of cardio, personally i feel 2x wk coupled with full body workouts are the best way to lean up fast without sacrificing muscle and strength, i train full body hard 2x wk and do core/calves and run for 30-45mins low intensity 2x wk, thats works wonders, especially when you manipulate your diet and carb cycle, if your goal is fat loss and lean mass.

    I basically do the same split as you except for a few minor details. I have had some good luck with doing some HIIT cardio for 20mins after workouts, or doing it in the morning semi-fasted. Just drink a protein shake to save muscle, but no carbs until after. Then I just do abs 2-3 times per wk on the days that you are doing cardio, or just rest all together. Where is the ab work in your routine. Very important for stabilization on heavy lifts imo. Not just to impress the girls or wash your clothes on. You could take some ripped fuel or an ECA stack to help with fat loss as well.

    Like what has been stated already, I think its best to just do one or the other. In my experience you either dont take in enough calories/carbs to gain mass, or burn to much doing cardio. Or you go 250-500 over your maintenance intake and put on good mass, but risk putting on a lil fat as well. I do a clean bulk from sept. to the end of march, and then cut from april to the end of August. Just play around with it and you will find what works best for you. We are all different in our own ways.

    pick one or the other bro, either cut or bulk. you'll make your life a lot easier.

    please post your stats, age, high, bf%, etc...
    what does your diet look like?

    I am a firm believer in rest is just as important as training. Especially if you are trying to bulk up. I always hit the major body parts 1xwk and do abs,shoulders, tri's,and bi's 2xwk. When I cut I do 5-6 days of lighter wt at higher reps for the caloric burn as well as definition, and of course adjust diet accordingly.

    When's your cardio days? T,TH,S,Su????How many days do you take off?? Are you on a cycle when on this routine?

    I do 45min of cardio on tues/thurs and I do 30min of light cardio after I workout I usually take the weekends off. If I am in contest prep I do cardio 45-60min 5-6 days a week.

    My workout schedule does not change much if im on cycle or not I don't spend more days in the gym just cause im on, you have to have enough time to recover and grow that happens out of the gym. Now with that said recovery time might be different for everybody lots of factors like age, gender, etc. and yes I do feel I recover faster when I am on cycle then not, but I do have a life besides being in the gym
