HELP: Flattening stomach/losing mid-section - 03-05-2007

Hi everyone.

I'm about to go on a cruise may 21st. I'm 5'9 175 lbs. I'm trying to lose some of my mid-section weight, and try to flatten out my stomach. I was wondering if anyone had some good ideas to help me get fast results, and a fast flat stomach. My other portions of my body are good size, more muscular. But it seems that my stomach has the fat. Well if you could please help me. Maybe some good ideas, and a good diet, without losing muscle. Thanks it would be muchly appreciated.

Have you ever heard about so called "vacuum exercise"?

If you want to miniaturize your waist you should practice so-called vacuum exercise. When you get up in the morning you must stay on all fours and draw into your stomach as much as possible. Stay in this position 15-25 sec. Do 3 sets. Do it on empty stomach.

Together with diet and cardio it can bring you great results. I say it from my experience.
By the way it is one of the prefered Arnold's Schwarzznegger exercices.

Yes, it should, it is focused mainly on stomach.

i agree with everyone else.

but remember, there is no spot treatment when it comes to losing fat. diet/cardio is the only way to do it. but remember, diet/cardio is a lot like weight training in that there are tons of different strategies to try to see which one your body responds to best.

some people respond well to low carbs, some prefer TKD, other have started using Intermittent Fasting techniques....

HIIT, low intensity, combos of both...

mess around with your diet/cardio to find what works best for you

good luck!

oh and as far as your fear of losing muscle while getting rid of your fat.

muscle catabolism is high hyped up I believe. your body has two primary macro nutrient stores it utilizes as energy (fat, carbs). only if you put your body in starvation mode would it resort to breaking down muscle.

if it will put your mind at ease though, supplement BCAAs and whey before your cardio sessions
