Nope, just that aspartame can cause cancer. If you put it in prospective though pretty much everything "causes cancer" now so I wouldn't worry about it.

I believe that there are certain studies that showed that the aspartame causes cancer in high dosage in rats over time, but it then again it might not have been conclusive evidence. I personally feel that many things can cause cancer if one is susceptible or pre-disposed to certain things. Why can some people develop lung cancer from limited second-hand smoke, and others can smoke for years and have no lung issues? Why can some people sun-tan and not develop skin cancer, and others do? I feel that if you are pre-disposed to certain things, then substances like aspartame can accelerate these conditions. Just my opinon.

I used to be hooked on diet soda's myself, but since I've been drinking 2 gallons of water a day, I have no more room for any other drink. Also, drinking all this water has taken the desire for diet soda.

Man , my wife lives on diet soda, i myself drink it every so often like when she doesnt finish one (which is rare) but i think the carbonation might not be good, as i feel bloated sometimes when i drink them, and if ya think about it there really is nothing to natural in them, im a water drinker myself.
