Good exercise to keep muscle and lose fat? - 06-04-2008

Guys it's summer and I just came off my first cycle so I did put on a little weight. I was wondering what kind of weight training would work to lose fat but keep as much muscle as possible? Would circuit training work? Could some one help me out to balance my cardio and lifting to acheive my goals? Thx guys!!

Hi Stanger,

I just wanted to tell you about a site FitNRG.com Online Calorie Counter & Fitness Diet Tracker Its a fitness and diet tracking site. It tracks your daily calories, exercises, body weight, activities, plan meals, etc. It’s a free site with many members who are committed to health, fitness, and weight loss.

It depends on lots of factor.
First of all begin doing more cardio.
As fot the rest it depends on your aim, how fast would you like to get rid of your fat and how lean would you like to look.

if you just want to do it the natural way then do cardio, I recommend at least 3 times a week but low intensity. monitor your heart rate you don't want it over about 120. this allows your body time to process stored energy (eg fat) without depleating your muscles. Increase the intensity of your workouts. Take less breaks between sets, increase reps... but the MOST important thing is diet. HIGH protien, lower your cals...

Thanks for that great piece of info! Exercise would be nothing if you don't follow a proper diet, a healthy post workout meal is also important to gain muscle and lessen fats.
