Are you using two needles, one for drawing and one for injecting. You won't waste any gear if you get rid of the bubbles while you have the first needle still in the bottle. Keep tapping and tilt the bottle and press, and the air bubble will go back in the bottle, this way you don't lose any gear.

When you swap out the first needle with a fresh one prior to injection, you should not have an air bubble as long as you press a few droplets out. I usually press a few droplets of gear out, very insignificant in the amount, this way there is a bit of lubrication, and helps with the inject.

Also, a little bubble won't do any harm, just might make u even more sore, but best to get rid of it.
